Philip M. O'Donnell passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, on April 3, 2008; he was 60 years of age. Mr. O'Donnell was born in Boston, raised in East Cambridge, graduated from Cambridge High & Latin, University of Lowell and received his MBA from Suffolk University. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Philip worked in production in the hi-tech industry at Computer Vision and Tauten for over 20 years and then as a criminal investigator for the IRS the past 6 years. He has lived in Melrose for over 30 years, was a member of St. Mary's Church, where he was involved with adult religious education and marriage preparation. Phil was a Red Sox and Patriots fan, was an avid reader, liked politics and loved to golf. Mr. O'Donnell liked his trips to Wells, Maine and loved his family trip to Ireland last year. Phil was the beloved husband of Margaret M. "Margie" (Leary) O'Donnell. Loving Father of Andy O'Donnell & Jere O'Donnell both of Somerville. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday April 7th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited.
