Phillip Ryan died at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Dec.25th after a long illness. He was born in Boston, raised in Saugus & Malden, graduated from Malden High School Class of 1933 and has lived in Melrose since 1951. Phillip was a printer for Daniels Printing in Everett for 35 years, retiring in 1980. He taught Graphic Arts at Boston University and Northeastern University for over 15 years. Phillip was an avid golfer, enjoyed summers in Gloucester and was a WWII Army Airforce Veteran. He was the husband of Priscilla M. (Kittredge) Ryan. Father of Paul P. Ryan & his wife Margaret of Saugus and Deborah A. Brennan & her husband Thomas of Melrose. Brother of Antoinette Dunn of FL. Grandfather of James & Tristan Ryan, Thomas Brennan Jr., Ryan & Emily Brennan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sat. Dec. 28th at 11AM. Relatives and freinds invited. Visiting hours Friday 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
