Phyllis M. (Mahoney) Campbell, of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on Feb. 14, 2014. Phyllis was born in Boston, raised in Revere and a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Revere & Boston State College. Phyllis resided in Medford & Woburn for several years, Melrose since 1965 and was a member of St. Mary's Church and the New England Telephone Pioneer's Club for many years. She was an avid reader, loved to garden and was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed traveling to Ireland, England, Scotland, Mexico and cruises to the Caribbean. She loved to spend her time with her children & grandchildren. Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Campbell for 48 years. Loving mother of Thomas J. Campbell, Jr. & his wife Jean, Diane Witkowski & her husband Jan, Lisa Campbell and Cynthia Campbell, all of Melrose. Devoted daughter of the late John & Dorothy (O'Reilly) Mahoney. Cherished grandmother of Kevin, Kaila & Riley Campbell and John & Patrick Witkowski. Caring sister of Barbara Mahoney of Wakefield, Gerard Mahoney & his wife Edith of OR and the late John J. Mahoney. Sister in law of Leo Campbell & his late wife Suzanne of Reading and Richard Campbell & his late wife Mary Ellen of CT. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, Feb. 19th at 8AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
