Priscilla Marie (Paquett) Blades of Melrose, died on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. She was 82 years of age. Born on December 17, 1927 in Boston to the late Edmond & Emelda (Mercier) Paquett, she was raised in East Boston & Somerville. Priscilla graduated from Somerville High School, class of 1940. She worked as a bus driver for Special Needs Children in Melrose for 10 years and then as a Lunch Mother in St. Mary's School of Melrose and the Rosevelt School of Melrose for 15 years. Priscilla enjoyed talking about her family, playing cards, Bingo, baking and cooking. She was the devoted wife of Joseph R. Blades, Sr. with whom they shared 61 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Joseph R. Blades, Jr. & his wife Patricia of Melrose, Karen Coleman of Virginia, Debra Goodhue & her husband John of Tewksbury, Edmond Blades & his wife Jane of Ohio, Robert Blades & his wife Joanne of Rowley, Thomas Blades & his wife Amy Beth of Melrose, James Blades & his wife Sharon of Virginia, Marie Lucey & her husband Stephen of Malden, John Blades of CT, Pamela Washburn & her husband Douglas of NY & Holly Burke & her fianc David Saulnier of Bedford. Cherished grandmother of 37 & great grandmother of 14. Caring sister of Robert Paquett & his wife Leona of PA & Muriel Dussault of Athol. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, February 15th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in Priscilla's honor at St. Mary's Church Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Family & friends respectfully invited.
