Obituary

Priscilla J. (Carstensen) Vining of Melrose, passed away June 24, 2007 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. She was 82 years old. Born and raised in Melrose to the late Henry D. & Clara F. (Norwood) Carstensen. Priscilla was a Melrose High School graduate, class of 1942. A life long resident, she was employed as a bookkeeper and secretary. She worked for her fathers company, Boston Pipe & Fitting of Boston, the Superintendents Office of the Melrose Public Schools and later with the Doe & Ingalls Chemical Company. Priscilla enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, watching golf, the Red Sox and Patriots on television. She was the devoted wife of the late Warren H. Vining, loving mother of Dana S. Coffill of Waterbury, CT, Barbara A. Wells & her husband David of Reading, Pamela J. Ducharme & her husband Kirk of S. Yarmouth & Christopher W. Vining & his wife Jessica of N. Andover. Cherished grandmother of 7 & great grandmother of 4. Caring sister of Joan Wilkes of Andover. Also survived by a niece. A funeral service will be held in Grace Ministies of the North Shore 101 Main St. Saugus on Thurs, June 28 at 10AM. Family & friends invited. Visiting hours Wednesday, June 27 in the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose from 5-8PM. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Priscillas memory may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. 330 Congress St. 5th Fl. Boston, MA 02210.
