Obituary

Rachel Anne Wells passed away in Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday, July 10, 2009, she was 23 years of age. Rachel was born in Melrose, raised in Melrose, attended the Horace Mann School, Melrose Middle School, Melrose High School and graduated from the Germaine Lawrence School in Arlington. She had been a resident of Raleigh, NC the past 3 years. Miss Wells was a talented athlete playing basketball, field hockey and softball during her high school years. Rachel loved to write poetry, listening to music, children and spending time with her friends. She cherished the times spent with her grandmother and her grandmother's friends going to the theater, out to dinner and shopping. Rachel loved her pets, especially her dog Sammy. She was the cherished daughter of Kenneth S. Wells of NC & Linda (King) Crosby of AL. Loving sister of Jessica E. Wells & her fianc Jeff Drier of NC. Beloved granddaughter of Frank & Marilyn Wells of Melrose and Nancy Chappel of Melrose. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles & cousins. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Thurs. July 16th at 10AM. Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield, at 11AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wed. 4-8PM. Interment in Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. Memorial contributions may be made in Rachel's name to the Germaine Lawrence School, 18 Claremont Ave, Arlington, MA 02476.
