Ralph C. Delorie, of Melrose, formerly of Malden, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on July 26, 2008 at the age of 66. Ralph was born in Boston, raised in Malden and a graduate of St. Joseph's Grammar School and Malden Catholic High School, Class of 1960. He went on to earn his degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University, Class of 1965. Ralph was a self employed Civil Engineer for over 45 years and a member of the Church of the Incarnation in Melrose since 1971. He was a Past President & member of the Melrose YMCA and the Melrose Fish & Game. Ralph was active in the MT Hood Parks Assoc. in Melrose for many years. He was the beloved husband of Joan M. (Kneath) Delorie. Loving father of Ralph C. Delorie & his wife Cathleen of Grafton and Andrea M. Delorie of Melrose. Cherished grandfather of Delia, Catherine and Sean Delorie. Caring brother of Donald Delorie of NH, George and Edward Delorie, both of Wareham, Margaret MacDonald of Bourne, Mary Noble of Buzzards Bay, James Delorie of ME and the late William Delorie. Son in law of Joan M. Kneath of Melrose. A Funeral Mass will be held in the Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St., Melrose on Wednesday July 30th at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. There are no visiting hours and burial is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ralph's memory to the Melrose YMCA 497 Main St., Melrose, MA 02176.
