Ralph E. Wallace died suddenly by accident in Reading on October 7th at the age of 72. Ralph was born in Melrose, raised in Malden, graduated from Malden High School and Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis. He lived in Malden for several years, Melrose for 25 years and Wakefield for the past 10 years. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Mr.. Wallace worked as a supervisor of restaurants for the McDonald Corporation for 21 years and the took over the family business, Chipman Shade Compnay of Wakefield. Ralph has owned and operated the business since 1978. He was a member of the Crystal Community Club in Wakefield, enjoyed ballroom dancing, country western dancing and was a devoted grandfather. Ralph was the husband of Loretta M. (O'Connor) Wallace. Father of Cathleen Corsetti & her husband Antony of Yarmouthport, Steven R. Wallace & his wife Patricia, Jean M. Wallace all of Wakefield, Jane P. Chambers of Melrose, Marguerite L. Wallace of Saugus, James J. Wallace & his wife Jennifer and Anne M. Demenkow & her husband Shawn all of Melrose. Son of Marguerite (Barsell) Wallace of Reading & the late Clarke Wallace. Brother of Clarke Wallace of Utah, Louise Russell of Reading and Janice Zaboly of Stoneham. Also survived by 11 loving grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held at Centre United Methodist Church, 7 Washington St. Malden, on Sat. October 11th at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held at Gately funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Fri. from 4-8PM. Burial will be in Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
