Renette M. (Sampson) Baldasaro of Melrose, Dec. 22, 2014. Beloved mother of her daughter Susan (Baldasaro) Smith; of her sons Norman F. Baldasaro, Jr. & his wife May, Timothy Baldasaro & his wife Gina, Mark Baldasaro & his wife Susan, all of New Hampshire, and Christopher Baldasaro, of Oregon; and of her predeceased daughters, the late Renette & Kathleen Baldasaro. Caring sister of her "Big Sister" Rose McClure of Maine. Predeceased by her late brothers, Roland, Russell, Roger & Raymond Jr. & her late sister, Sr. Ruth Sampson. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews, whom she loved dearly. Loving companion of the late Anthony D'Amore, of Everett, and cherished friend to his children & their families. Best friend of Carmella Colangelo, of Revere.
Daily communicant at St. Mary's Church in Melrose where she was a member of Our Lady's Sodality. Served as a Eucharistic Minister and brought communion to the homebound. Volunteered at St. Mary's grammar school, where she enjoyed reading to the preschool children.
Returned to school as an adult, completing her Associate Degree at Bunker Hill Community College, after which she worked at The Boston Company and, later, at BNY Mellon.
Renette loved people and could often be found at her Dunkin Donuts in Melrose drinking her extra light hazelnut coffee and, recently, trying to figure out how to use an iPad.
Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Mon., Dec. 29th at 9AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Sun. Dec. 28 from 2-5PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society c/o St. Mary's Parish in Melrose.
