Richard J. Casey (Chick) of Atkinson NH, formerly of Melrose MA, passed away on January 31, 2020 with his loving family at his side following a lengthy illness. He is the husband of Mary-Ann (Rossano) Casey with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Richard was born May 17, 1936 in Peabody MA, he is the son of the late David and Alice (Goodelski) Casey. He was a graduate of Melrose High School Class of 1955. Richard was the owner of Precision Cleaning Company Inc. and a founding member of the Logan Airport Association, "a helping hand for the airport community." Richard treasured the time he spent with his family. He also enjoyed golfing, boating, horse racing, coffee, and spending time at Big Island Pond in Atkinson, NH. In addition to his loving wife Mary-Ann, Richard is survived by his daughter Carol-Ann (Casey) O'Neill and her husband Michael of Newburyport MA, his son Richard J. Casey, Jr. and wife Karen of Derry NH. Loving brother of David Casey of Chula Vista CA and sister Barbara Casey of Lynnfield MA. Richard was the proud grandfather to Erin, Megan, Christopher, Shannon, Daniel and his seven great grandchildren. Caring uncle to many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79. W. Foster St. Melrose on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 4:00-7:00 PM. His funeral service will be in the Gately Funeral Home on Thursday morning, February 6th at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
