Richard M. "Mike" Conway, of Melrose, died at home surrounded by his family, following a lengthy illness at the age of 70. Mike was born in Dorchester to the late Michael & Ida (Hafele) Conway. Richard was a graduate of Dorchester High School, Class of 1960. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during Vietnam. Richard worked for Hoods Milk in the early years of his marriage, and then became a Draftsman, working for such companies as U.S. Gear in Woburn, Instrumentation Labs, Lexington and Fire Control Instruments in Newton. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Fucci) Conway formerly of Malden for 47 years. Loving father of Richard Conway Jr. & his wife Kelly of Wakefield, MaryAnn Iarossi & her husband Rick of Melrose and Kevin Conway & his wife Grace of Melrose. Cherished grandfather of Christina Messina & her husband John, Alyssa Drake, Samantha & Daniel Conway and Eric Perdomo. Great grandfather of Jayden Jackson and Madison Messina. Caring brother of Maureen Kassatly & her husband Al of Duxbury, Kathleen Lynch & her husband John of Dorchester and the late James Conway. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday Oct. 12th at 9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
