Richard J. "Rich" Doucette, of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly on November 25th, 2022 at the age of 58. Rich was born in Boston on October 25, 1964, he was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School.

Rich was an avid sports fan with a great sense of humor, he always loved a well timed joke. He was a talented carpenter and spent many years working as a contractor. Rich was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, he'll be greatly missed.

Richard is survived by his parents, Gerard and Marjorie (Coyle) Downey of Peabody. Brother of Robin Leary & her husband Michael of Wakefield. Uncle of Meghan, Michael, and Patrick Leary. Godson of Phyllis Trippe. Loving companion to the late Patty Boone, and her two daughters Nikki and Dee.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2nd, 2022 from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM following the visitation at St. Mary's Church, 4 Herbert St., Melrose. Burial to follow the mass at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rich's name to a charity of your choice.
