Obituary

Richard D. "Dickie" Hill of Revere, formerly of Malden, died Friday, February 25, 2011 at his home in Revere, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. He was only 66 years old. Born on November 2, 1944, in Everett, a son to the late Walter and Dorothy (Daley) Hill, he was raised in Malden and attended Malden Public Schools. Richard worked proudly with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, Local 218, as a Union Carpenter for 33 years. He was a member of the Men's Auxiliary Veteran's Post in Medford (VFW) for many years and Dick enjoyed his work, Boston Sports, especially the Pats and Red Sox and lottery tickets. He was the beloved father of Sharon MacEachern and her husband Gene of Billerica and Jeffrey Hill of Malden. The cherished grandfather of Tayla and Colin MacEachern. Also survived by his loyal and loving friends Donna Reid of Saugus and Joseph Leonard of Everett. Caring brother of Walter Hill and his wife Donna of Melrose, Linda DiCarlo of Malden, Roberta Kosses of Malden and the late Patricia Paris of Malden and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Monday, February 28th from 3-7PM in the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home at 7PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Interment is private. Arrangements by The Gately Funeral Home of Melrose.
