Richard A. 'Dick' McLaughlin died at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Nov. 26th at the age of 66. He was born in Watertown, raised in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School. Richard has been a resident of Melrose for over 33 years and has summered at Higgins Beach in Scarborough Maine for over 25 years. Dick worked as a manufacturer's representative in electronics, he owned the Belmac Company for 10 years and then worked as a regional manager for the Elco Corp. of PA for 30 years. Richard also worked at the concession stand in the Boston Garden for 37 years and was a member of the Woburn Elks. He was the husband of Carol E. (Holt) McLaughlin. Father of Robin C. McLaughlin of CA, Rick A. McLaughlin & his wife Kim of NH, Sherri E. Mancini & her husband Tony of Lynnfield, Susan A. McLaughlin of Cohasset, Lisa M. Gibbons & her husband David of ME, Kelly A. Cogliano & her husband Chuck of Hull & Jennifer L. Miller & her husband Michael of Framingham. Brother of Eleanor Doherty of Woburn, Jackie Mead of Bedford, Donny McLaughlin of Arlington, Ginny Schwamb of Lowell and the late Sonny McLaughlin. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sat. Nov. 29th at 9AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 3-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
