Rita May (Flanagan) Ciampa passed away at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Attleboro, on October 8, 2005, she was 79. Rita was raised in East Boston, attended East Boston High School and has been a resident of Melrose since 1949. Mrs. Ciampa was a homemaker and a telephone operator, working for the New England Telephone Company in Boston for over 20 years and then for the Sonesta, Malden Hospital and Saugus Bank & Trust for several years. She was a longtime member of St. Marys Church, a member of the N.E. Telephone Pioneers and enjoyed crocheting.Rita was the loving wife of the late Albert E. Ciampa. Devoted mother of Edmund A. Ciampa & his longtime partner Kathy Neagle of Tewksbury, Donna Marinosci & her husband Rudolph of Attleboro, Michael J. Ciampa & his wife Brenda of Revere, Paul F. Ciampa & his wife Denise of Peabody and Janice Petrillo & her late husband Richard of Everett. Loving grandmother of Marla Ciampa of Woburn, Craig Ciampa of Tewksbury, Julia & Deana Trapani both of Attleboro, Gina Ciampa of Boston, Anthony & Michael Ciampa both of Revere, Nicholas & Christopher Ciampa both of Peabody and April & Joseph Petrillo both of Everett. Devoted sister of Norma Fitzpatrick of Medford, Madeline DeRocco of Melrose, Arlene Avola of Stoneham, Paul Bebo Flanagan of Brockton and the late John Buddy Flanagan & Ronald Flanagan. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wed. Oct.12th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
