Rita Barbara (Harrison) Coye died peacefully on March 19, 2023, she was 93 years of age. Rita was born in Everett on March 29, 1929 to the late Gordon & Susan (McDonnell) Harrison.

She was raised in Everett, graduated from Everett High School and has lived in Melrose for over 65 years. Mrs. Coye was a longtime member of Incarnation Church in Melrose.

Rita worked for over 20 years for Circle Floors in Everett, enjoyed bowling, dancing and in her earlier years playing bingo. Mrs. Coye loved spending time with her large extended family and going to Dennisport on Cape Cod with the Gradys.

Rita was the wife of the late Edward D. Coye. Loving mother of Maureen K. Morrissey & her husband Rick of NH, Eileen S. Coye of Melrose, Michael K. Coye & his wife Michelle of Billerica and Kathleen R. Fortier & her husband David of Tewksbury. Cherished grandmother of Jason, Michaela, Susan & Kelly. Caring sister-in-law of Emily Youngclaus of Woburn.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 4:00-7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St. Melrose on Friday, March 24th at 10:00AM. Followed by a burial at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
