Obituary

Rita M. (Maiani) Gaglione passed away at the Life Care Center in Stoneham, on August 8, 2017 at the age of 90. She was born in Revere on December 28, 1926 to the late Louis & Laura (Giggi) Maiani. Rita was raised in Revere and graduated from Revere High School, Class of 1943. Mrs. Gaglione was a homemaker who lived in Everett until 1959, Chelsea until 2005 and in Melrose since 2005. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Grace Church on the Everett /Chelsea line. Rita enjoyed sewing, cooking, horse racing and walked a mile every day. She also loved working at Suffolk Downs for the Kelly Services and at her dad's clothing store, Louis Maiani, on Elm St. in Everett for several years. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles H. Gaglione. Loving mother of Robert C. Gaglione, Laura Siciliano & her late husband Leo, Gary J. Gaglione all of Melrose and the late Charles R. Gaglione. Proud grandmother of Vincent, Marisa, Charles, Joey and Nicholas. Caring sister of the late Edward Maiani & his wife Carol of Saugus, and the late Louis & Dorothy Maiani and John Maiani. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church, 194 Nicholas St. Chelsea/Everett line on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 10:30AM. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rita's name to Melrose Little League, 23 Clifton Park, Melrose, MA 02176.
