Rita Moore Hannaford passed away at her daughter's home in Wilmington, on January 9, 2007, she was 89. Rita was born and raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School, Class of 1935. Mrs. Hannaford was a homemaker, she lived in Medford for a few years and Melrose from 1958-1994. Rita was the wife of 47 years to the late Robert F. Hannaford. Mother of Claire M. Russo & her husband Lawrence of Melrose, Rena F. Hannaford of Wilmington, Neil Hannaford & his wife Susan of Reading and the late Robert F. Hannaford Jr, Lorraine & Mary Hannaford. Sister of the late Emma Concannon, Marie Shaw, Sarah Wilson, John Moore & Annette DuPlease. Grandmother of Lawrence Russo III, Lisa Capuano, Matthew & Melissa Hannaford. Also survived by 4 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services wil be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Saturday, January 13th at 11AM.
