Rita P. (Burke) Hilton, of Melrose, died at home on Sept. 9, 2013 at the age of 85. Rita was born in Boston, raised in Revere and attended Revere schools. She resided in Revere until 1968 and the past 45 years in Melrose. Rita enjoyed bingo and traveling to Las Vegas and Foxwoods. She had a great sense of humor and loved to spend her time with her family. Rita was the beloved wife of the late Richard Hilton. Loving mother of Joseph P. Hilton of Wakefield. Devoted sister of Evelyn Glennon & her husband Philip of Melrose and Kenneth Dunn of Lynnfield. Devoted grandmother of Hugh Hilton of Ireland and the late Dean Hilton. Cherished aunt of Philip Glennon of Malden and Patricia Glennon-Colby of Lynnfield. Caring sister in law of Rita Hanlon of East Boston. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and many friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, Sept. 13th at 8:45AM. A Mass of Christian Burial in Incarnation Church, 729 Upham St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8PM.
