Robert J. "Bob" Bushee of Wakefield died on Saturday, October 22, 2011 in his home at the age of 84 years old. Born in Melrose on November 11, 1926, he was the eighth of fifteen children to the late Charles & Emma (Boucher) Bushee. He was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School. Mr. Bushee served our country proudly as a Seaman First Class in the United States Navy during WWII. After the service, he worked as a freight handler with Roadway Express for 25 years and as a Mason for many years. Bob enjoyed his grandchildren and their sporting events, cigars, his pipe, reading and Suffolk Downs. He was an active member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church of Wakefield for many years as an alter server, Eucharistic minister and sang in the choir. Bob was the devoted husband of the late Frances E. (Rooney) Bushee with whom they shared 45 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Suzanne Bialock & her husband Matt of Stoneham, Mary Bushee & John Brochi of Wakefield & Joseph Bushee of South Boston. Cherished grandfather of RJ, Brian & Michaela Bialock of Stoneham & Jonathan & Dylan Brochi of Wakefield. Caring brother of George, Eddie & John Bushee, Barbara Whitford & the late Wilfred, Freeman, Tommy, Joseph, Ernie, Raymond, Arthur & Frankie Bushee, Louise Sheridan & Irma Doucette. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, October 26th at 8:45AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8PM.
