Robert A. "Bob" Chadwick, of Stoneham, formerly of Malden, died on Friday, September 11, 2009 at the Wakefield Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was 84 years of age. Born on June 21, 1925 in Malden to the late Ernest & Rebecca (Coakley) Chadwick, he was raised in Malden and attended Malden Public Schools. Mr. Chadwick resided most of his life in Malden and the last 9 years in Stoneham. Bob served our country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII and then worked as a mechanic and foreman with Capital Truck Leasing of Everett for 25 years. He enjoyed golfing and his 21 years of wintering in Puerto Rico with his wife Rosemary. He was the devoted husband of the late Rosemary B. (McDonald) Chadwick, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Pamela J. Bryan & her late husband Bernard of Stoneham. Cherished grandfather of Meaghan E. & Caitlin R. Bryan, both of Stoneham. Caring brother of Ernest Chadwick & his wife Bette of Saugus & the late Frederick Chadwick & Louise Eighbaum-Chadwick. Funeral Service in the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, September 15th at 10AM. Reverend Dominic Taranowski, Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Melrose will officiate. Family & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody with military honors.
