Robert R. "Bob" Delmastro, of Newbury, NH, formerly of Melrose, died at the Genesis Lebanon Center in Lebanon, NH on Nov. 29, 2018 at the age of 84. Bob was born & raised in Medford and a graduate of Medford High School. He went on to attend Northeastern University and then served proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Bob was a former Service Manager, General Manager & President of Pioneer Engineering Co. of Salem and American Engineering for 28 years before opening Del Aire Inc. in Melrose from 1983-1989. He was a founding member, parishioner, CCD Teacher, Eucharistic Minister & Board Member of the Church of the Incarnation in Melrose for many years. Bob was a member of the Melrose Elks Club & the Local #537 Pipe Fitters Union for many years. He enjoyed oldies music, bowling, Sunday drives and was an avid Boston sports fan. Bob loved to coach baseball, play cards, travel to Italy, Spain & Venezuela and spend time at the family camp in Sanford, ME. Bob was the beloved husband the late Margaret C. (Currier) DelMastro. Loving father of Sharon Black of Methuen, Joanne Whaley& her husband William of FL, Robert DelMastro, Jr & his wife Karen of Wenham, William DelMastro & his wife Sharon of Melrose, Debra Beliveau & her husband John, Darlene DelMastro, all of Saugus, Richard DelMastro & his wife Roxanna of Fl and Susan Baldasaro & her husband Mark of NH. Caring brother of the late Dominic "Dick" DelMastro, Helen Giarle, Lucille Aborn and Clara Destefano. Cherished grandfather of 21 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, Dec. 7th from 8-9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St., Melrose at 10:00 AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
