Robert E. Ditoro, of Melrose & Chichester, NH, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on Jan. 19, 2010 at the age of 66. Bob was born & raised in Fulton, NY and attended Fulton Schools. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during Vietnam & was on a blockade ship during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Bob worked as an H.V.A.C. Foreman for Massport at Logan Airport for 32 years. He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield and was a lifetime member & officer for the Harold O'Young V.F.W. Post #2394 in Melrose for many years. He enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Foxwoods, Alaska and going on cruises. Bob loved to read, puzzles and most of all spending time playing sports with his grandchildren. Bob was the beloved husband of Marie (Buccilli) Ditoro. Loving father of Robert E. Ditoro Jr. & his wife of Melrose and Emilie Daniels & her husband John of Chichester, NH. Devoted grandfather of John, Christopher & Derek Daniels. Caring brother of Sandra Egloff, Linda Capizzi, Carl Ditoro Jr., Carleen McCollum, Sherman McCollum and Dennis McCollum , all of NY, John Ditoro of AZ and the late James Ditoro. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday Jan. 23rd at 9AM. Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 115 Main St., Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8PM. Burial will be private.
