Robert F. Keohan passed away at the Life Care Center in Stoneham, on September 29, 2006, at the age of 74. Robert was born and raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1949 and has been a lifelong resident. After graduated from high school Mr. Keohan entered the US Air Force and served for 7 years during the Korean War. He worked for Transitron in Wakefield for a few years, Solid State in Salem for many years and for Massport on the Tobin Bridge for 25 years. Robert was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church, the Melrose Elks, the VFW Harold OYoung Post# 2394VFW, where he was past commander. Mr. Keohan enjoyed traveling, playing cards and golfing. Former husband of Loretta A. (Patula) Keohan. Father of Michael T. Keohan of North Andover, Theresa A. Keohan of Melrose, Lisa M. Mendenhall of Lawrence and Kimberly A. Keohan of Andover. Brother of Mona Gustafson, Philip V. Keohan Jr. both of Melrose, Catherine Oxley of Saugus and the late Walter Keohan, Ronald Keohan & Elizabeth Oxley. Grandfather of Ashley, Samantha, Bryce & Hope. Also survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tuesday, October 3rd, at 10AM. Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield, at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM.Burial in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
