Robert Joseph Doc Fugere passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, on April 13, 2006, he was 85. Robert was born and raised in Salem, graduated from Medford High School, Class of 1939. Doc worked as an automotive machinist for the Eastern Auto Parts Company of Malden for 31 years, he taught automotive machine at the Northeast Vocational School in Wakefield for 16 years and the worked as a substitute teacher for over 10 years at the vocational school. He was a longtime resident of Melrose, a member of the Retired Teachers Union and the Stoneham Coin Club. Robert was the husband of 58 years to the late Louise A. (OBrien) Fugere. Father of Suzanne Y. Camberlain & her husband Michael of Saugus and Philippe R. Fugere & his wife Susan of Wilmington. Brother of Lucien Fugere of Springfield. Grandfather of Melissa Cunningham, Amanda Camberlain, Nicole & Paul Fugere. Great grandfather of Michael & Ryan Cunningham. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday April 18th, at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
