Obituary

Robert E. Kearney passed away in Salem on July 6, 2007, he was 84. Bob was born and raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1941. He entered the service and served as a Radioman 1st class for the US Navy during WWII. After his discharge from the Navy he graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. Mr. Kearney owned the Austin Pharmacy on Wyoming Ave. in Melrose for 20 years and the worked for the VA in Boston and Bedford for 20 years. Robert has been a resident of Stoneham since 1961, was a devoted family man, enjoyed gardening and was a longtime member of St. Patrick Church in Stoneham. He was the husband of Mary F. (Kelly) Kearney. Father of Jane M. DeRosa & her husband Lewis of NH, Martha T. Thayer & her husband Brian of NH, Michael R. Kearney & his wife Lisa of Franklin and Brian T. Kearney & his wife Patricia of CT. Brother of Edith Doucette of Melrose. Grandfather of Kathleen, Joseph, Laura, Elizabeth, Brendan, Mikayla, Matthew, Caroline & Andrew. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tuesday, July 10th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Patricks Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 AM. Relatives and Friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8Pm. Interment in St. Partrick Cemetery Elm St. Stoneham.
