Obituary

Robert J. Lynch Sr. died after a long illness at Kindred Hospital in Peabody Sept. 12th at the age of 79. He was born in Boston, raised in Charlestown, graduated from St. Mary's High School in Charlestown and received an associates degree from BU. Robert lived in Charlestown for many years, was a member of Charlestown Old School Boys Assoc. and has lived in Melrose the past 42yrs. Robert was a sales manager for T.F. Kinnealey Co. of Boston for 45yrs. He served in the US Army during WWII serving in Normandy, the European Theater and the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the 58th Quarter Master Base Depot and a former usher at Incarnation Church in Melrose. He was the husband of Martha (Squires) Lynch. Father of Robert J. Lynch Jr. & his wife Susan of Salem, Massachusetts State Trooper Stephen G. Lynch & his wife Kathleene of Stoneham and Maureen A. Noyes & her husband William of Saugus. Brother of Michael Lynch of CA, Frank Norton of Charlestown and Margaret Cotter of Melrose. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sat. Sept. 15th at 9AM. Funeral mass in The Church of the Incarnation 429 Upham St. Melrose at 10 AM. Relatives and freinds invited. Visitng hours Friday 2-4 & 7-9PM. Memorial contributions may be made to WWII Memorial Washington DC. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery Everett. WWII Army Veteran.
