Robert "Bobby" N. Madden of Melrose, passed away on September 29th, 2018 at the age of 80. Bobby was born in Everett, MA on June 7, 1938 to the late John and Marion (Hutchinson) Madden. He was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. He served honorably in the National Guard, and also served the City of Everett for over 35 years as a fireman. During his retirement, Bobby drove for Station Crossing Assisted Living in Melrose where he made many friends. He was a family man and truly adored his grandchildren. Bobby's family would like to thank Dr. Lillian Chen and the staff at Tufts Medical Center in Boston for the special treatment he received. He was the loving father of Cheryl McMahon and her husband Derek of Pepperell, and the late Robert N. Madden Jr. Proud grandfather of John Colasanti and his fiancé Christina, and his great-granddaughter Ariana of Saugus, Nicholas Colasanti-Madden of Everett, Ciara McMahon of Cork, Ireland, and Colin McMahon of Pepperell. Brother of Charles Madden and his wife Jane of Melrose, the late John Madden, and the late George Madden. Also survived by many loving nieces & nephews. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose, at 11 AM on Friday, October 5, 2018. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.
