Robert M. Sheridan passed away suddenly at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, on Monday, November 19, 2012. He was only 66 years of age. Robert was born in Stoneham on July 13, 1946 to the late Joseph & Marie (Festa) Sheridan, he was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1964. A lifelong resident of Melrose, Robert was the founder and owner of Sheridan Engineering in Peabody for the last 29 years. Mr. Sheridan enjoyed his summer trips to Ogunquit, Maine, was an avid golfer and liked playing at the Bradford Country Club. Robert was a kindhearted, warm and gentle man who always placed his family first and will be sorely missed. Mr. Sheridan was the devoted husband of 47 years to Jean M. (Park) Sheridan. Beloved father of Kimberly J. Cornelius & her husband William of Melrose, Robert M. Sheridan Jr. & his wife Kathleen of Ipswich, and Kathryn M. Sheridan-Schepici & her husband Dustin Schepici of CA. Cherished grandfather of Matthew & Olivia Cornelius and Lillian & Margaret Sheridan. Loving brother of Barbara Morrison of Melrose, Marie Copp of Melrose, Richard Sheridan of Nashua, NH, Charles Sheridan of Melrose, James Sheridan of Danvers, Joseph Sheridan of Raymond, NH, Sandra Crowley of Melrose & the late Joan Ross. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Saturday, November 24th at 8AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00-8:00PM. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
