Robert Michael Vuillemenot passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Monday, October 10, 2011. He was 70 years of age. He was born in New York City on May 12, 1941, the son of Leontine Vuillemenot and the late Robert Vuillemenot. He was raised in New Jersey and has been a resident of Melrose since 1971.
He met his future wife, Carol Griffith, at Michigan State University. They were married on May 29, 1964 in St. Mary's Church in Paw Paw, Michigan.
Robert was a packaging engineer at Polaroid in Cambridge from 1970 until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed collecting, restoring, and repairing antiques, particularly old phonographs and American clocks. He was an active member of the Massachusetts Old Colony Society, which is a chapter within the national organization, The Michigan Antique Phonograph Society. Robert was a member of the Parish of the Incarnation of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Melrose.

Loving father of Lisa Kanwischer & her husband Stephan of Paw Paw MI, Michelle Steinberg & her husband Brett of Windsor, CT, Nicole Blake & her husband Scott of Topsham, ME, Lesley Ruzon & her husband Mark of Mountain View, CA. Devoted son of Leontine Vuillemenot of CT and the late Robert P. Vuillemenot. Loving brother of Ronald Vuillemenot & his wife Sylvia and Pamela Waesche & her husband John. Cherished grandfather of Stephanie & Michael Kanwischer, Nathan & Julia Steinberg, Sean, Colin & Daniel Blake, and Samantha, Timothy, Bonnie, and Luke Ruzon. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday Oct. 15th at 9AM. A Funeral Mass in the Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 10AM with Father Stephen Boyle officiating. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8PM.
