Robert B. Wall, Jr., of Melrose, passed away on June 1st, 2023 at the age of 70.
Bob was born on December 28th, 1952, at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, to two proud Marines, Robert B. Wall and Therese (Bradley) Wall and was raised in Littleton, MA. After graduating from Lawrence Academy, he embarked on a career in law enforcement in Littleton, Boxborough, and the Boston & Maine Railroad. Bob's career path led him to FedEx. Upon taking an early retirement, he became a pilot and pursued a career in aviation working for Smart Routes, Linear Air ending up at East Coast Aero Club at Hanscom Field.
He loved trains, planes and automobiles and his Harley. Bob was a technology guru, ham radio operator, and loved to cook. He could be found watching movies with airplanes or submarines and YouTube videos about classic cars and all the cooking episodes he could find.
Bob leaves behind his beloved wife Diane (Ridley) Wall and his son Bradley; his sisters Katherine and her husband Gordon Hunziker of Glen Ridge, NJ; Alison and her husband Kevin Warren of Pepperell, MA; and Elizabeth Wall and her partner Mike McEvaney of Dublin, Ireland. Also survived by brothers-in-law Arthur Ridley, James Browne and Stanley Jackson. Caring uncle to Katie Browne and her wife Cait, Margaret Hunziker, Elizabeth Hunziker and her fiance Mike, Joe Jackson and his fiance Abby, and Patrick Browne. Proud great-uncle to Ridley Browne. Survived by numerous Bradley cousins and his dear friends, the Romeos (Retired Old Men Eating Out), who would get together and reminisce about the good old days over great meals.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 6th, from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, MA. A Funeral Service will be held there on Wednesday, June 7th, at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose, MA. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project at woundedwarriorsproject.org.
