Rosalie M. (McCarthy) Collins, of Melrose, died at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield on July 10, 2012 at the age of 95. Rosalie was born in Cambridge, raised in Somerville and a graduate of Somerville High school, Class of 1935. She resided in Medford for 45 years, Melrose for 12 years and Reading for several years. Rosalie worked as an Office Clerk for Fisher Scientific Instrument in Medford for 15 years before her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the 200 Club & Ladies Sodality at St. Mary's Church in Melrose and the Mother's Club & the Ladies Sodality at St. Francis Church in Medford for many years. Rosalie was the beloved wife of the late Charles H. Collins. Loving mother of David J. Collins & his partner Jerry Merson of Framingham. Cherished sister of Eugenia Reilly & her husband William of Roslindale and the late Sr. Frances McCarthy, Olive Adum and Clare Lehto. Caring aunt of Maryann, Kevin, Gina, Kenneth, Anthony, Robert and the late Ronnie. Also survived by many cousins. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday July 14th from 8-9:30AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
