Rosalie M. (OBrien) Minichiello passed away at the Dover Rehabilitation & Life Care Center in Dover, NH on January 8, 2007, she was 93. Rosalie was born in Albany, NY, raised in Melrose and graduated from St. Marys High School, Class of 1930. She lived in Melrose most of her life, Nashua, NH for 25 years, a few years in Hampton, NH and the past year in Durham, NH. Before starting her family, Rosalie worked as a supervisor for the New England Telephone Company in Melrose & Malden. She was a homemaker and was both a Boy & Girl Scout leader. Rosalie was extremely religious, a former member of St. Marys Church & Ladies Sodality in Melrose and Immaculate Conception Church in Nashua, NH. Mrs. Minichiello was a talented seamstress, who enjoyed swimming at the Melrose YMCA, was an avid walker, liked studying astronomy, wild flowers and gardening, especially tomatoes. Mrs. Minichiello had an adventurous spirit, she loved flying; including a ride in a 1930 open cockpit biplane on July 3, 2005. Rosalie was married 54 years to the late Amilio A. Minichiello. Devoted mother of James Minichiello & his wife Margaret Pam Fornia of MD, JoAnn Watson & her husband Robert of Durham, NH, Madaline Minichiello of Malden, and Pamela Minichiello & her partner Douglas Sherman of Acton. Loving grandmother of Kelly & Meredith Watson and Gail & Tracey Minichiello. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Sat. Jan. 13th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 5-8PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
