Obituary

Rosario 'Roy' Morello of Saugus, formerly of Melrose, died at home surrounded by his family on Nov. 21st at the age of 55. Roy was born & raised in Sicily and came to the United States at the age of 8. He lived in the north end of Boston before moving to Somerville & was a graduate of Somerville High School class of 1967. Roy was a resident of Melrose for 20 years before moving to Saugus 6 years ago. He received his Degree in Engineering from Northeastern University in 1976 and was a consultant for many Engineering firms in Boston for over 30 years. He participated in the development of video conferencing for Picturetel Corp. in Andover & worked as an Engineer for Net Scout Systems of Westford the last 3 years. Roy was the loving husband of Clare W.(Manuel) Morello. Devoted father of Joseph J. Morello & his fianc Laurie Anne of Salem, Marie N. Donohue & her husband Timothy, A.J. Morello, Rosalie Morello & her fianc Matthew, all of Saugus. Cherished son of Rosa (DiModica) Morello of Arlington & the late Giuseppe Morello. Brother of Guy Morello of Arlington & Joseph Morello of Billerica. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday Nov. 25th at 10:00AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Monday 4-8PM. . Burial in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Roy's memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 1309 Beacon St., Boston, MA 02446-9918. U.S. Marine Vietnam Veteran.
