Rose (Pittella) DelGreco passed away at Bear Hill Rehab & Nursing Center in Wakefield, on Friday, February 12, 2010. She was 82 years of age. She was born in East Boston on May 2, 1927 to the late Joseph & Maria (Nesci) Pittella. Rose was raised in East Boston, graduated from Boston Trade School and worked as a seamstress for several years in the garment district in Boston. Mrs. DelGreco was a homemaker who enjoyed shopping, walking in downtown Melrose with her friends and spending time with her family. She has been a resident of Melrose for the past 46 years and loved going to the Melrose Senior Center to dance & sing. Rose was the wife of Pasquale DelGreco. Mother of P. Nicole Martignetti & her husband Domenic of Nashua, NH and Nicholas DelGreco of Peabody. Sister of Edie Alleca & her husband Paul of Wakefield, Domenic Pittella & his wife Patricia of Saugus & Nicholas Pittella & his wife Claire of FL. Best friend forever to Helen, Rola, Cathy & the late Olga. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral service at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday, February 18th at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Wed. 4:00-8:00PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
