Rose C. (Bottaro) Forlani, of Melrose, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Feb. 7, 2010 at the age of 91. Rose was born & raised in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School. She resided in East Boston for many years, Somerville of several years and lived most of her life in Melrose & Saugus. Rose worked as a Salesperson for Sears Roebuck in Saugus for 19 years before retiring at the age of 65. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Lynnfield for many years and enjoyed Knitting, Bingo and Cooking. Rose was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and will be missed by her many friends at the Cochrane House in Melrose. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank A. Forlani. Loving mother of Marie R. Girard & her late husband Raymond of Peabody and Theresa F. Spartichino & her husband John of NV. Cherished grandmother of Scott, Rayna & Paul. Caring sister of Mary Analoro of Stoneham, the late Anthony Bottaro & his wife Mary of Saugus, the late Josephine Butler & her late husband Melvin and the late George Bottaro. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday Feb. 12th at 8:30AM. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 758 Salem, St., Lynnfield, MA 01940 at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8PM. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
