Rose M. (Coyle) McGee passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Feb. 14th at the age of 97. Rose was born in Donegal, Ireland and came to the US at the age of 16. Rose lived in Malden for many years, before moving to Melrose in 1956. Mrs. McGee worked as a housekeeper for several faculty members at MIT and Harvard University for several years and as a housekeeper to the Solicitor General of the US and Harvard Law School Dean, Dean Griswald and his wife Harriet, for many years. Rose was a longtime member of St. Marys Church in Melrose. She was the wife of the late Cornelius McGee. Mother of Mary R. Kelley & her husband James of Westwood and the late James P. McGee & his wife Donna of Cohasset. Grandmother of Michael Kelley, Carol Conley, Philip T. McGee, Peter J. McGee and Leslie-Ann S. McGee. Great grandmother of Peter Conley, Sarah R. McGee, Meaghan E. McGee, Coyle McGee Shropshire and Holden J. Shropshire. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Sat. Feb. 19th at 9AM. Funeral mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 4-8PM. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in W. Roxbury.
