Rosemarie E. (Ryan) Bassler of Melrose, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at The Woburn Nursing Center. She was 75 years old. Born in Malden, MA on June 4, 1931 to the late Charles & Gertrude (Shanahan) Ryan. She spent her first 10 years in Malden before the family moved to Melrose where she lived the rest of her life. Rose was a 1949 graduate of St. Marys High School and a member of St. Marys Church. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She was the loving mother of David A. Bassler, Jr. of Boston, Trudy White of Woburn, son-in-law Barry White, Jane M. Bassler of Ware, Scott C. Bassler of CA., & Linda A. DeJordy of Brattleboro, VT. Cherished grandmother of Nicole Strout & her husband Tyler, Danielle Doherty, Dana Bassler, Ashley Miller, Kayla, Randy & Dylan DeJordy. Special great grandmother of Devin, Shaylin, Bailey, Kelsey & Michael. Sister of the late Joseph, Paul, Charles, Wilfred Ryan & Mary Chance. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. Feb. 21st at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church Herbert St. Melrose at 10:30 AM. Family & friends invited.
