Caring Loving Mother

Rosemarie C (Belmonte) Cincotta, 97, passed away peacefully at her home on December 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Rose was born on April 11, 1928 in Boston MA. Rose was one of three children of the late Lawrence and Jennie Belmonte. She graduated Everett High in 1946, and began working at John Hancock until 1951 when she met and married her husband of 70 years, Bernard Cincotta.

Rose dedicated her life to her husband and 8 children. She was a longtime resident of Melrose and a member of St Mary’s Sodality. Rose enjoyed bowling, bingo, reading and spending time with her family and friends at her cottage in Wells ME. She was always up for a game of cards or playing games with her grandchildren. In later years she worked at Garniss Market and volunteered at A Servant’s Heart food pantry in Melrose.

Rose was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Cincotta. Devoted mother of Donna Williams, Joanne Ashley and late husband Richard, Rosemarie Gilfeather and husband Fred, Catherine Pepe and husband Enrico, Elaine Rogal and husband Chuck, Ann Potito, Bernard Cincotta Jr and wife Tracy, Joseph Cincotta and wife Doreen and son in laws Raymond Williams and the late Donald Potito. Rose also leaves behind her cherished 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be at Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Friday, January 2nd, 2026, from 4:00-7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Mary’s Church, 4 Herbert St., Melrose, on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 at 10:00 am followed by internment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
