Rufus J. Clark, Jr. of Melrose, died January 13, 2010 at the MelroseWakefield Hospital. He was 92 years old. Born on March 18, 1917 in East Boston, he was raised in Everett by his grandparents and was a 1937 graduate of Boston College High School. Mr. Clark was a resident of Melrose and a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church of Wakefield. He worked for 40 years driving a truck for the H.P. Hood Milk Company of Charlestown. He enjoyed driving, traveling and taking day trips with his wife Helen. Wherever you found Rufus, you found Helen, they were always together. If the car left the driveway, Rufus and Helen were both in it and he was still driving up until a few months ago! Rufus lived life to the fullest and his grandchildren meant the world to him. He was the devoted husband of the late Helen E. (Hayman) Clark, with whom they shared 55 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Rufus E. Clark & his wife Jean of Reading & Susan E. Nurmi & her husband William of Quincy. Cherished grandfather of Cheryl Hindle & her husband Alan of FL, Michael Nurmi & his wife Rose of Quincy, Bill Clark of Ipswich, Karen Bell & her husband John of Essex & David Clark & his wife Krista of Reading. Great grandfather of Michael Nurmi, Jr., Nicholas Robertson, Emily Clark, Matthew Hindle, Hayden & Logan Clark & Patrick & Connor Bell. Caring brother of Paula Russ of TN & Carol Hill of AZ.
