Ruth M. (Carroll) Bolger passed away at Brooksby Village in Peabody, on Thursday, November 11, 2010. She was 86 years of age. Ruth was born in Boston on May 8, 1924 to the late Charles & Lillian (White) Carroll. She was raised in the Wollaston section of Quincy and was a resident of Melrose for over 50 years. Ruth was a dedicated wife and mother who worked at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital as a CSP Technician for a numbers of years. She enjoyed classical music, was an avid reader and spent many hours at the Melrose Public Library. Mrs Bolger cherished the times spent on Cape Cod with her family and loved the ocean. She was the beloved wife of the late John A. Bolger for 54 years. Devoted mother of John C. Bolger & his wife Linda of Atherton, CA, Michael Bolger of Dennis, Carol A. Dresser of Stoneham, Richard & his wife Maureen of Cohasset, Paul & his wife Claire of Reading and Jean M. Folsom & her husband Robert of Norwood. Sister of William Carroll & his wife Diane of S. Windsor, CT, Richard Carroll of Cleveland, OH, and the late Lee Pieper (her twin sister), Charles Carroll, & Virginia Wall. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She valued education & generously donated her body to Tufts University School of Medicine for medical research. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a "Celebration of Her Life" at Bellevue Golf Club, 320 Porter St. Melrose, on Saturday, November 20, 2010. The Bolger family will receive family & friends from 12:00-1:00PM with the celebration starting at 1PM followed by a luncheon.
