Ruth E. (Lothrop) Hines of Malden, formerly of Melrose, passed away June 27, 2007 at her daughters home in Malden. She was 87 years old. Born on August 23, 1919 in Ayer, MA to the late Charles A. & Delia R. (Haley) Lothrop. She was raised in Ayer and graduated from Ayer High School. Ruth attended business school in Boston and worked as an office clerk with American Medical Therapeutics from 1985 through 1992 after raising her children. She enjoyed being a homemaker, loved her family and everything her children were involved in. She sang with the choir at Most Blessed Sacrament Church of Wakefield and even liked slot machines. Ruth was the loving mother of Marie Slaney & her husband Edward of Melbourne, FL, Elaine R. Wheeler of Malden, Patricia A. Kaechelin & her husband Thomas of Levittown, PA & John A. Hines, III & his wife Deborah of Churchville, PA. Cherished grandmother of 10 & great grandmother of 15. Caring sister of the late Charles & Robert Lothrop. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W.
