Ruth K. (Spencer) Iovanni passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on March 29th, she was 81. Ruth was born and raised in Everett, graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1940 and lived in Everett most of her life. Mrs. Iovanni worked as a secretary for the Superintendent of Everett Schools for over 15 years. She moved to Melrose in 1979, was a member of Incarnation Church in Melrose and did volunteer work at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for the past 15 years. Ruth was a member of the travel group at St. Theresa Church in Everett and a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Everett. Mrs. Iovanni was a world traveler, enjoyed sewing, reading & golfing throughout her life. She was the wife of the late Ralph P. Iovanni. Mother of Ruthann Bates & her husband Richard of MD, Peter M. Iovanni & his wife Lorraine, Jan Kent & her husband Douglas all of Beverly and Robert Iovanni & his wife Pati of NH. Sister of Arthur Spencer of FL, Richard V. Spencer of Wellfleet and the late Charles Spencer. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday April 1st at 10AM. Funeral Mass in The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose
