Samuel G. Pellegrino died after a long illness at the N.E. Medical Center in Boston Jan. 9th at the age of 68. He was born and brought up in Boston, graduated from Boston English High. He lived in Winthrop for several years, Stoneham for a few years and many years in Melrose. He was a union business agent for BCT (Bakery Confection & Tobacco for 20yrs retiring in 1985 and previously had worked for Stop & Shop for many years. He was alongtime member of TSL Organization of Mass. devoting many hours to the group. Sam was a chapter leader, on the executive board, he wrote, produced and sang in several variety shows for the TSL. He also had run auctions for the TSL. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. He was the son of Sarah (Wein ) Pellegrino of Charlestown and the late Stephen Pellegrino. Father of Stephen G. Pellegrino of Providence RI, Kenneth R. of Taunton, Sandra Schroeder of Stonington CT, Jean Bucci of Johnston RI, Lynn Warner of Freemont NH, Nancy Pellegrino of Cranston, RI, Richard D. of Warwick, RI, Robert J. of Lynn and David J. Pellegrino of Topsfield. Brother of Stephen Pellegrino of NY, Joseph Pellegrino of Malden and Mary Kimball of Charlestown. Also survived by 20 grandchildren , a great grandson and many nieces and nephews. Fiancee of Susan Merenda of Melrose. Funeral Services wil be held in Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St Melrose on Fri Jan 12 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs 4 - 8 pm. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery.
