Sandra L. (Stempkowski) "Sandy" Irvin of Melrose, formerly of Pittsburgh, died on Sunday Evening, November 29, 2009, at the Annemark Nursing Home of Revere after a short but fierce battle with cancer. She was 69 years old. Born on April 20, 1940 in Pittsburgh, she moved to Medford, MA in 1965. She was a homemaker and a CNA at the Normandy House Nursing Home in Melrose for 10 years. Sandy was a hardworking woman with a kind heart who appreciated the small things in life. She loved her bingo and the Seinfeld TV Show. She will best be remembered by all who knew her as a proud mother, adoring grandmother and loyal friend. She was the loving mother of Pamela L. Irvin of Melrose & Jeffrey J. Irvin & his wife Jill of Stoneham. Cherished grandmother of Janelle Irvin, also of Stoneham. Sister of Judy Stempkowski & Thomas Stempkowski, both of PA. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W.
