IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra "Sandy"
Sorrentino
May 2, 1952 – December 4, 2024
Sandra "Sandy" Sorrentino, of Saugus, passed peacefully at Tufts Medical Center on December 4, 2024 at the age of 72.
Born on May 2, 1952 in Cambridge, MA. Sandy was a long time resident of Melrose-attending school and raising her family there before relocating to Saugus in 2011.
Sandy was an instrumental part of her families' electrical businesses, managing for many years at Scelzi Electric in Cambridge, MA, and later for Sorrentino Electric in Melrose, MA. Sandy's love and compassion was truly demonstrated through her CNA work at Woodbriar Health Center in Wilmington, MA. She also was a loving and longtime caregiver for the late Bob Jacobs. Sandy found joy in spending summers with family and friends at Wagon Wheel Campground in Old Orchard Beach, ME, as well as snow birding in her happy place, Lake Fairways, FL.
Sandy "Mimi" was known for her boundless conversation—she could outtalk just about anyone and had the ability to fill any room with laughter and chatter. Beneath her lively and talkative nature, she carried a deep concern for others, always thinking of and worrying about the people she loved. Sandy will be remembered for all the love and kindness that she shared with others. She made sure everyone was taken care of and welcomed all with open arms! Whether you needed a shoulder to cry on or a good laugh, you could always count on her.
Sandy was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Gloria (Dusablon) Scelzi, brother Robert "Bobby" Scelzi, and her loving daughter Patricia "Patti" Brown.
She leaves behind her "sista" Patricia Melanson, son Tony Sorrentino and his wife Michelle of Boxford, her grandchildren, Jessica Stewart and husband Joseph, of Fort Riley, KS, Ashley Gosser and her husband Jake, of Fort Johnson, LA, Miranda Irvin of Beaverdam, KY, Ava and Anthony Sorrentino of Boxford, nieces and nephews Joe, Lori, Nicole, Laurie, Susan, Robert and the late Barbi, her 5 great-grandchildren, Scottie, Alex, Nicholas, Gloria, Cathleen, many loving cousins, dear friends, and her devoted Goldendoodle, Bentley.
