On January 27, 2022, Sean Buckley, aged 59, went to play golf in the greatest places of all.
Sean was born in Brighton, MA on July 28, 1962 to the late Donald Buckley & Mary (Dundon) Buckley of Newton. He lived his childhood in Newton, MA with his mother Mary and his sister Clare.
He attended Northeastern University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1985. He later went on to earn his Master's Degree. Sean started his engineering career at Draper Labs. He worked at Draper for 38 years. A place he referred to as, "The Mother Ship". In 2009 he received an Exceptional Public Service Award from NASA for his role in developing a star camera that steers spacecraft by recognizing star patterns.
Sean lived his life to the fullest and had boundless energy, whether it was kayaking, hiking, coaching soccer, golfing or doing what he loved the most, being with family and friends.
Sean married Amy Robbins on October 21, 2000. Together they raised two daughters. Eve is 18 and will be attending the University of Tampa in the fall of 2022 to study Bio-Pre Med. Gwyneth is 14 and a freshman, and plays the Quad drum in the high school marching band. Sean's daughters were his greatest joy. He loved attending their various school activities and was their biggest cheerleader.
Sean will be remembered by his six nieces and nephews, along with his extended family for their time spent on a beach, cooking on the grill, and his overall sense of humor.
Sean's memory will live on by all those who love him and know him best. Funeral Services will be private.
