Sean M. McCormack passed away suddenly at his home in Everett on Friday, March 11, 2011. He was only 44 years old. Sean was born in Malden on January 24, 1967; he was raised in Everett, attended Everett Schools and has been a lifelong resident. Mr. McCormack was a member of the SEIU Local Union 509 and has worked the last 16 years as a dorm attendant at the Chelsea Soldiers Home in Chelsea where he will be sorely missed. Sean loved working with all the guys at the Soldiers Home. He was also a talented mason. Sean was very proud of his Irish heritage, loved music, dancing, the Patriots, history and animals; especially his pet finch. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. and had an extensive sneaker collection. Sean will rest in peace next to his father Joseph, whom he loved with all his heart. He was the beloved son of Barbara J. (Rinaldi) McCormack of Wakefield and the late Joseph M. McCormack. Loving brother of Michelle McCormack-Farinella & her husband Pasquale of Wakefield and Deborah McCormack of FL. Proud uncle of his Godson Michael Joseph McCormack of Wakefield, Ryan McCormack of Everett, Cassie & Joseph McCauley both of Melrose. Devoted friend of Debra Gianatasio. Also survived by several aunts, uncles & cousins. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tuesday, March 15th from 4:00-8:00PM.
