Shaun E. Driscoll of Nahant, formerly of Swampscott, died on Friday, January 30, 2009 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was only 59 years old. Born on June 12, 1949 in Boston to the late Edmund & Noreen (Curran) Driscoll, he was raised in Cambridge and a 1967 graduate of Cambridge High & Latin High School. Mr. Driscoll served 4 years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and later worked as a self-employed contractor and a foreman for Trico Services of Newburyport. He was a resident of Swampscott for 30 years before moving to Nahant. He was a jack of all trades, could fix anything and had just finished building his home in Nahant by himself. He was very proud of his house and his family. Shaun enjoyed traveling to Mexico, reading, watching the Patriots, Budweiser, Irish & Country Music, cooking & exercising. He was a courageous man and through all his endeavors he always put his family first. Anyone who met Shaun knew he had a great sense of humor and a way to make everyone feel as ease. He was always the life of the party. Shaun was the devoted husband of Karen M. (Collins) Driscoll, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Shana M. Driscoll & her friend Matthew C. Levander, both of Newmarket, NH & Tara M. Driscoll of Nahant & her friend Robert P. McLaughlin of Swampscott. Caring brother of Mary G. Daniels & her husband Frederick of Little River, SC & the late Brian J. Driscoll & Katherine Casey Morse & her husband Charles of Everett. Special son-in-law of Mary G. MacDonald of Lynn. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Sat., Feb. 7th at 11AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Church 248 Nahant Rd., Nahant.
