Shay Padric Kiely, of Charlestown, formerly of Melrose, died unexpectedly on Jan. 31, 2017 at the age of 37. Shay was born in Boston, raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1998. Shay was a member & umpire for the Melrose men's softball league for many years and was an avid sports fan. He was caring, loyal, very outgoing, had a great sense of humor and was "One of a Kind". Shay was the devoted & wonderful father of Sullivan Kiely. Loving son of Janis (Sullivan) & the late Bernard Kiely of Charlestown. Husband of Lindsey (Bakeman) Kiely. Cherished brother of Shannon Kiely, Sean Kiely and Sweeni Kiely, all of CA. Also survived by many loving cousins, relatives & friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, Feb. 8th from 4-8PM. Funeral on Thursday, Feb. 9th in St. Francis Church, 313 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
